Grace Kelly as Lisa Fremont in Rear Window [1954]

The green suit blows me away every time.

I have daydreams about the black-and-white dress.

The Birds by ck

Obsessed with this since we watched it for class last week. I even named one of the characters in my fiction class’s short story Melanie. Whoops.

life:

Happy birthday, Alfred Hitchcock.

Here, we pay tribute to Alfred Hitchcock by celebrating the many actresses who served as muses — and, in some cases, emotional punching bags — for the demanding and often completely besotted director.

Pictured: Ingrid Bergman, who starred in Notorious and Spellbound.

My favorite director. Why? If it weren’t for Psycho in a high school film class, I would still be a scaredy cat who couldn’t look at the movie posters for frightening films. Now I love the thrill.

Thank you Hitchcock. I have a feeling you would be proud you corrupted me.

Alfred Hitchcock’s famous movie posters as gifs

Hitchcock movie posters as gifs … I’m only missing one of these.  I still haven’t made it through all of The 39 Steps.  Yet.

Alfred Hitchcock holding a replica dummy head. The dummy head was used in the 1972 film, Frenzy trailer for the body of Hitchcock floating down the River Thames.

I love Frenzy.  It’s such an off-kilter film.  You would think that a serialist rapist wouldn’t be funny, and yet somehow he is.
